Harrison County is
READI for Opportunity
As part of the five-county Indiana First Region (Harrison, Knox, Perry, Pike, Spencer Counties), we’re leveraging the state’s Regional Economic Acceleration and Development Initiative (READI) to build strategic infrastructure, expand housing options, and attract next-generation businesses and talent.
For investors and community leaders, READI represents more than a funding stream, it’s a shared commitment to strengthening the economic backbone of Southern Indiana. Harrison County is onboard for creating reliable conditions for investment, long-term stability, and meaningful community impact. Together, we’re building a foundation where investment can take root and opportunity can grow.
What is READI?
READI is Indiana’s bold, state-wide initiative launched to accelerate regional growth.
The Indiana First region was awarded $15 million in READI 1.0 funding, setting the stage for millions more in private and public investment in our region.
For HCEDC and Harrison County, READI means real investment for projects that elevate our business parks, our housing supply, and our infrastructure — so you can locate, grow and thrive right here.
READI Focus Areas
Quality of Opportunity
Creating the conditions for business growth, workforce advancement and new industries.
Quality of Place
Creating the conditions for business growth, workforce advancement and new industries.
Quality of Life
Fostering vibrant neighborhoods, outdoor recreation, community assets and the everyday experiences that make a place worth staying.
